Practice update 1/6/20.
We are starting to re-open our services from 1st June.
We are not planning to reopen Lydbrook for clinical appointments at present, so all face to face appointments will be at Brunston. Lydbrook will remain open for collection of prescriptions only.
The doors will remain locked at both premises and you need to ring the doorbell for attention.
Our Meet and Greet service will continue at Brunston. Patients attending for face to face appointments will be escorted in and out of the building so that contact with any surfaces within the surgery is minimised.
Patients must observe social distancing rules by remaining 2 meters (6 feet) apart wherever possible. The number of patients waiting in reception will be minimised and changes have been made to the seating area.
Prior to your visit we would be grateful if you would purchase a face mask to cover your mouth and nose and wear it to your appointment. Washable and reusable face masks are widely available. If you don’t have a mask on arrival you will be given a disposable one. However, we would prefer to reserve our PPE stock for NHS staff wherever possible.
If you have developed any COVID related symptoms (high temperature, persistent cough, loss of taste/smell) you MUST telephone the surgery prior to your appointment.
All staff are required to wear masks, and those with face to face contact with patients (clinical and non-clinical) must also use visors, gloves, aprons, etc
We take infection control very seriously, and we have built in extra time between each face to face appointment to clean all hard surfaces such as door handles, chairs, desks, couches, etc. Unfortunately this does mean there is a reduction in the number of appointments offered.
GPs will continue holding consultations remotely by telephone or video link which is working extremely well. Patients will only be invited for a face to face appointment if the GP decides it is necessary. This is to reduce the risks to both patients and staff.
We have also recently implemented eConsult on our website which offers round the clock NHS self- help information, signposting to services, and a symptom checker as well as submitting symptoms or requests to your GP electronically.
